Highlights
On this Small Group Minivan Tour you will explore the main sights of “The Sound of Music” film locations in and around Salzburg city including some of the most beautiful parts of the Austrian Lake District “Salzkammergut“.To begin the tour we will visit the historic and important sights in Salzburg, Schloss Leopoldskron lake and Hellbrunn Palace where the Gazebo from “The Sound of Music” film is preserved. “Hellbrunn Christmas Market“is one of the most beautiful Advent Markets around Salzburg.

Wednesday open at St.Wolfgang 11:00 am to 07:30 pm, closed at St.Gilgen & Strobl.
Thursday and Friday St.Gilgen & Strobl and St.Wolfgang 11:00 am to 07:30 pm
Saturday, Sunday, Bank holiday (08th Dec) St.Gilgen, Strobl, St.Wolfgang 10:00 am to 07:30 pm
An optional taking a boat ride from St.Gilgen to St.Wolfgang is possible . Boat ticket not included.

c) Please inform us in case you want to take a baby with you (necessary for the proper child seat).
After exploring the market and the gardens we go east into the “Salzkammergut” Lake District, via a scenic road passing the emerald lake Fuschlsee giving us a glimpse of the Fuschl hunting lodge. A little further and our next lake is revealed at a curve in the road opening up a panorama looking down onto village and lake, surrounded by mountains. This is the lake “Wolfgangsee”, very much a highlight of the tour, with its delightful historic villages St.Gilgen and St.Wolfgang. We visit their Christmas markets and have time to check out the traditional shops or take lunch at St.Wolfgang.
Some leisure time to visit the St.Wolfgang Christmas market inclu. lunch break at St.Wolfgang we head on, passing the Hüttenstein Castle and the picturesque lakesKrottensee and Egelsee and that huge lake you will notice on the right is the Mondsee. The highlight of the colourful village of Mondsee is visiting St.Michael’s Church which was used for the wedding scene in the “The Sound of Music” film. After some free time at Mondsee Christmas Market, we return to Salzburg.
Then we return to Salzburg and you will be dropped off near Mirabel Gardens.
