Saltmine

You will be welcomed by a miner with the traditional “Glück auf”. After donning overalls to protect your cloths your adventure will start with a train ride into the mountain. Enjoy this journey into the depths of the mountain and back in history. Marvel at the tunnel system and the art of mining. A highlight will be the raft trip across the subterranean saline lake.
Please note that the temperature in the salt mine will be app. 10° C.

King’s Lake (Königssee)

On an electric-powered boat you will leave the noisy and busy everyday life behind and enjoy Germany’s deepest and cleanest lake, the Jewel of the Bavarian Alps.
This emerald-green, fjord-like lake is towered by the steep walls of rock of the mountain Watzmann up to 1800m and has a depth of up to 190m. On a small romantic peninsula is the landmark of King’s Lake, the ancient Augustine chapel St. Bartholomew. For its uniqueness and beauty St. Bartholomew is world famous and very popular with artists. There is no other way to there but by boat because of the unique landscape and it is the reason for another special feature: The fascinating King’s lake echo.
At the traditional restaurant there you can have some refreshments before we go back to Salzburg.
On the way back we will drive through the charming little town Berchtesgaden with its royal castle and the abbey. In the Berchtesgaden Royal Castle the Bavarian kings spent their holidays and enjoyed the beauty of the nearby King’s Lake.
