THE WORLD FAMOUS "Salzkammergut" LAKES AND MOUNTAINS DISTRICT

On the way to 5 Fingers and Hallstatt we go through the famous Lakes and Mountains district "Salzkammergut" passing by also hotel Schloss Fushl and the headquarters of Red Bull. Our 1st photo stop is high over Lake Wolfgang and the Mozart village St. Gilgen.

HALLSTATT – 7000 years of salt mining and UNESCO Heritage Site

Finally we will reach the extraordinary village Hallstatt at lake Hallstätter See. It is simply amazing how the houses were built between the mountains and the lake. 7000 years of salt mining and the findings of eminent historic import even gave a scientific epoch its name: The "Hallstatt period" with the "Hallstatt Culture". Together with the Dachstein region Hallstatt was declared an UNESCO Heritage site.
